FinMobility submitted its position on Military Mobility Package

FinMobility welcomes the European Commission’s forthcoming Military Mobility Package, a vital step towards a safer, more resilient, and better-connected Europe.

For Finland – the EU’s easternmost frontier – military mobility funding is essential to protect the Union’s borders, secure logistical supply chains, and sustain the vitality of border regions. Strengthening Northern Europe’s transport corridors and Arctic accessibility should be among the EU’s strategic priorities.

FinMobility’s key messages:
• Increase the EU co-funding rate for Military Mobility projects from 50 % to 75 %.
• Develop dual-use infrastructure that serves both civilian and military needs.
• Fully include Northern Europe’s corridors in the TEN-T and CEF frameworks.
• Harmonise and simplify cross-border rules for rapid troop and equipment movements.
• Recognise national weights and dimensions for heavy vehicles and ensure flexibility during emergencies.

Military Mobility is not only about defence – it is about resilient infrastructure, efficient logistics, and Europe’s collective security.
